Travelling with friends is a big
decision and it takes careful consideration. You can have the time of your
life! But it can also completely ruin your trip as well as your friendship. So you
really need to put some thought into who you should take with.
It’s not necessarily your best
mate. It doesn’t have to be your brother or that cousin you often go to the pub
on Saturday nights with. It’s not your work chum either. There are some factors
that define the right ‘travel buddy’. What are they?
Did you read it all? What it comes down to is this:
we are not going to become a different person when travelling. But it is a
chance to see things through different eyes. So, it’s important to be relaxed
and give other people, and ourselves, space and time. It’s not just the
different places, it’s the sounds, the smells, the tastes, the experience of
stepping out of what you’re familiar with. Let’s keep our minds and hearts open
to our friends’ suggestions. Let’s be ready to make our own!
After all, travelling, like all
kinds of human experience, always takes a little compromise!
